Piano and Theory Teaching

I am a full professional member of the European Piano Teaching Association (EPTA) and hold the LTCL diploma in piano performance. I also hold the Cert PTC in piano pedagogy, a BA (Hons) in Music, an M Mus in Music Analysis and an MA in Music Therapy.
My teaching studio is located in Greenwich, London SE10.
I specialise in teaching adults, from beginners to advanced and have pupils from a wide variety of musical and personal backgrounds; I am passionate about teaching and feel it is a privilege to share my love of the piano with all. As a qualified music therapist, I take care to treat each pupil an individual, preparing personal learning plans which take into account ambitions, musical tastes, and life circumstances. I focus on technique and musical detail right from the beginning and ensure students develop good habits and practise regularly.
Three times a year I hold studio concerts, where my students come together to perform to each other in a mutually supportive and safe environment.
I am confident preparing students for exams up to diploma level, and have a hundred percent success rate, with most of my pupils achieving merit or distinction. I am also equally happy to work with those who do not wish to take exams or perform, and for whom making music is a more private matter.
Theory
I consider it important that all pupils gain structural understanding of the music they are playing; theory is additionally a pre-requisite for pupils wishing to take ABRSM practical exams past Grade 5 level. I therefore teach some theory as an integral part of all piano lessons, and also offer extra coaching for pupils wishing to take the exam.
