Piano tuition
Caroline teaches piano and theory to adults, from beginners to diploma level, and works with pupils from a wide variety of musical and personal backgrounds. She is passionate about teaching and feels it is a privilege to share her love of the piano. As a qualified music therapist, she treats each pupil as an individual, preparing personal learning plans that take into account ambitions, musical tastes, and life circumstances. She also organises regular studio concerts, where students come together to perform to each other in a mutually supportive and safe environment.
Caroline is confident preparing students for exams up to diploma level; she has a 100 percent success rate, with most pupils achieving merit or distinction. She is also equally happy to work with those who do not wish to take exams or perform, and for whom making music is a more private matter.
She considers it important that all pupils gain structural understanding of their music and teaches theory as an integral part of lessons. She can also offer extra coaching for pupils wishing to take theory exams.
Caroline is a professional member of the European Piano Teaching Association (EPTA) and of the Incorporated Society of Musicians. She holds the LTCL diploma in piano performance, the Cert PTC in piano pedagogy, and also has a BA (Hons) in Music, an M Mus in Music Analysis and an MA in Music Therapy.
She teaches face-to-face, in Greenwich, London SE10.
